Canon 550D: Powerful and Affordable SLR

This model replaces the previous Canon 500D, keeping the best of it and adding some more advanced features.

Features and specifications of Canon 550D

The Canon 550D, although mid-range, has nearly 18 megapixel resolution (much more than other competing cameras considered professionals). It also has an ISO range that reaches 6,400, forcing can be increased up to 12,800.

For video enthusiasts the Canon 550D is a delight: record video in different resolutions can get Full HD (1080p) at 30 frames per second. If we lower the resolution to normal HD camera allows us to get more frames per second (fps) reaching 60fps, highly recommended for slow Slow-Motion/Cámara scenes. It also allows us to connect an external microphone.

The camera in burst mode, you can disbar up to 3.7 frames per second, making 34 photos continue unabated JPG or RAW mode 6 photos continued.

One of the few cameras in its range offering is the HDMI connection, something the Canon 550D boasts.

Finally, for many, Canon 7D Canon 550D is a small scale and low price.

The best thing about this camera:

Automatic sensor cleaning.
Many megapixels.
Full HD video at 30 fps.
Compatibility with more than 160 objtivos today.
The worst thing about this camera:

Continuous shooting. A mere 3.7 fps.
Only 9 AF points
Absence of continuous focus while recording video.
Competing with the Canon EOS 550D

This model features and specifications competes directly with the Nikon D3100 and D5100, although in certain aspects even surpassing the famous D90.

At this point difficult to find digital SLR cameras with the same features and have a similar price. The Canon 550D costs 702 euros body only, but a difference of less than 20 euros (721 euros) get the body + lens stabilizer 18-55mm.

Summary:
This is the few cameras that come to mind when you think about digital SLR cameras that offer good price / performance ratio and also do not become obsolete soon. Just as we urge you to all my readers fans of Nikon's D3100, those who want to take your first steps with the Canon really can not think of a better option than the 550D.
