Genius WideCam 320: features and price

The company Genius has filed this week an interesting new webcam under the name of Genius WideCam 320. The new webcam is characterized by having a large optical angular r with a range of up to 100 degrees. Designed originally for the conference rooms of professional environments, the new webcam also meets the needs of home users.

The new webcam arrives home with a large aperture with an aperture of f/2.4 and a resolution that is somewhat limited at 640 x 480 pixels, a low figure considering the multitude of HD webcams that are currently on the market.

The camera comes with a suite of services, and operation is Plug & Play with the difficulties which will not install. The new WideCam 320 also is capable of capturing images with a resolution of 8 megapixels and record videos at 30 fps.

The Genius WideCam 320 is available in our country for 39.90 euros.

Nanotechnology cheapen construction of solar panels

Thanks to progress in the work of nanotechnology, solar panels can now be available to many more families who want to maximize the energy of sunlight to convert it into electrical energy.

Recall that so far have been constructed with silicon solar cells, and are modified with chemicals by what is called a process of doping and generates the driving force necessary to extract energy from them.

Everything indicated that this process could not stand any kind of material, but researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of California, have made a remarkable discovery which would enhance the efficiency of photovoltaics by allowing the use of virtually any material semiconductor as metal oxides, sulfides, phosphides, which are abundant and are so much cheaper.

This has been achieved by applying an electric field instead of chemistry. The approach is not new, but until now the existing electrode designs were inconsistent with the photocells.

“Graphene was the inspiration,” explains one of the leaders of the project, Will Regan. Graphene is a highly conductive material, comprising a sheet of carbon with a single atom thick and can be influenced with the game of electric fields. Thus, scientists have described two ways of constructing the electrodes, one with and one graphene itself with very narrow nanowires.

Nano-paper power, the future of the electrical insulation

As we know, the electrical isolation is achieved by covering a part of an electrical installation with a material that is not electrically conductive and which resists the passage of current through the element which covers and holds it in its path along the driver.

These materials such as ceramics, polymer types, micas, varnishes, textiles and electrical papers, they are known as electrical insulators and thanks to nanotechnology could now withstand higher voltages and have more life.

In Mexico, researchers at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the National Polytechnic Institute, are working on the idea of getting electrical papers nano-tech enhanced by introducing the material nano-particles that alter the electrical characteristics of the paper, which supports higher voltages and reduces the rate of aging.

Note that in other countries, research has been directed toward obtaining and Nano-polymers nano-ceramics, but these Mexican institutions become the first to research and coining the term electrical Nano-paper.

HTC will release a 5-inch smartphone

When we talk about gadgets we do not refer only to devices with strangers most varied applications, we can also find devices like the one we present below.

The Samsung Galaxy Note came exactly a year ago and was a great success, although it was a very risky bet for Samsung because of the large screen size of this terminal. But now things have changed and many terminals with screens bigger and bigger, without being tablets.

HTC adds to this trend and have stated that they plan to launch its own terminal of no less than 5 inches which will display Full HD with 1080p resolution.

Although we must say that will not exactly 1920 x 1080, but a little less, exactly 1794 x 1080, so as to leave the 126 vertical lines needed by Android navigation buttons. Currently there are known more features but they sure are a lot more interesting.

Nikon says the camera to its line J2 Nikon 1

Nikon has introduced a new model without a mirror to its range of Nikon cameras Nikon 1. The J2 model is about 80 euros cheaper than the J1 and includes some improvements, but retains its 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor CX format. From a purely price, is one of the most affordable compact cameras without interchangeable lens mirror on the market.

Among the improvements in performance include a 3 inch screen with better resolution, 921,000 pixels now. The body has a metallic appearance, while Creative also includes a mode that allows users to add effects on board, including scene modes and filters. Users can choose between picture modes, color selection, miniature, soft, night landscape, backlight and Night Portrait. Nikon EXPEED processor incorporates 3 that can take pictures at speeds of up to 10 fps continuous shooting up to 5 fps.

The Nikon 1 J2 comes in red, pink and white. Exceptionally, Nikon has added a handle to the red and pink models, but omitted it in the white model. It costs the equivalent of about 443 euros.

Samsung Galaxy Note from T-Mobile costs only 179.99 dollars

Data specs and images of the Nikon 1 J2

Have leaked some specs and several images of the rumored Nikon 1 J2 and Nikkor 11-27.5 that will accompany it.

A week ago the rumor jumped on the chance that Nikon would announced a new version of Nikon 1 J1. You had to wait long to see the first images and even meet the first data on this camera, but so far has not yet been formally introduced. Aesthetically it seems that the Nikon 1 J2 will be identical to its predecessor, especially in the front. In the rear of the camera you can see slight changes that are mainly in the form of buttons, while maintaining the same provision.

In terms of specifications, the camera will have a CX-format sensor (probably the same size as that of the J1, 13.2 x 8.8 mm) with a resolution of 10.15 megapixels and an integrated auto-focus system based on the phase difference. It will also have an image processor EXPEED3, maintain electronic type shutter with speeds of 30 to 1/16000 seconds and a sensitivity range between 100 and 3,200 ISO. This Nikon camera without mirror can make burst shooting at 10 frames per second, but may reach 60 frames per second and record video in HD quality (1920 x 1080 60i) and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC compression format MOV.

The new Nikon J2 will have a 3-inch LCD screen and 920,000 points (twice the screen definition of J1) and a slot for SD memory cards, SDHC and SDXC. In addition, it has creative ways to have eight panoramic photographs, selective coloring, backlight photos, night scenes, etc. and four exposure modes. As might be expected to see the pictures, the dimensions of the new camera are exactly the same as the previous model, 106 x 61 x 29.8 mm and its weight has increased by only three grams: 237 versus the 234 of the 1.

In addition to several images from the camera in different finishes, we also have leaked images of the new f/3.5-5.6 Nikkor 11 to 27.5 mm. This target will serve as the new J2 kitero replace the Nikkor 10-30 mm accompanying the Nikon 1 J1 and V1. The equivalent focal length of this lens, 35 mm format, is 30-75 mm. At the moment we know only this new optical data, although it seems to be at least a white version and the other in black, to go to match the finish of the camera. So far you have not seen in red, but did have 10-30 mm version in this color too.
