It is called Gajah tablet (still have not posted the
official name) and is devoted entirely to the smallest of the family. This
shows that the market for tablets is flooded with content, news, bigger
screens, more powerful devices and light because it is a sector that is in
significant expansion and manufacturers do not want to miss this opportunity.
The company that has made this tablet for children is
called Gajah International and Singapore. While not finished developing it, you
know that has a 7-inch panel, Android operating system 4, the interface is
simple, it has bright colors, large icons, a core processor at 1 GHz with 512
MB of memory RAM and 32 GB internal storage.
It was presented at the last fair Computex, the largest in
the Asian continent in relation to technology. Also showed a digital book
reader with touch screen and 6-inch electronic ink, as well as a 9.7-inch
tablet with Ice Cream Sandwich.
However, what caught the attention was this Gajah for
children, which for now does not have a name beyond the design, i.e., known as
MD7008. The prototype presented in Taiwan has funds of screen fun with designs
and offers supervision by parents, so they can monitor the content they access
their children.
The buttons are large and easy to press and the housing is
protected with a rubber shock. The hardware is taking shape but still the
software is far from complete.
It is noteworthy that there are not many tablets devoted to
children currently in the market, except for two models: Archos Child Pad &
OLPC XO 3.0.
